Blog Action Post

It’s October 15th - the day of the Blog Action Day.

My post today is on the environment. I’ve shared in my recent posts that I just moved to another home. Moving by itself is a great task. However, moving with the environment having in mind might be something a bit harder, but something that’s worth.

What do I mean by moving “green”? Well, first of all when I moved I had to change quite a few things in the appliances. Take for example the light bulbs - I spent money on efficient and energy-saving bulbs that yes, they cost more, but their life is much longer. Also, in that way I save more energy, which is a) good for me looking at the end of month at the electricity bill and b) greener and friendlier for the environment.

Making one house green can be done in many ways. Apart from the bulbs that I already mentioned, I also did some major isolation of the house to save heating energy during the winter; some optimizations in the way I use my computer, TV and the other audio-visual appliances; installed three trash bins instead of one so that I can collect the rubbish separately - one bin for paper, one for glass and metal and one for the rest of the rubbish.

There are quite a few steps and things that every single one of us can do to make a difference to the environment. No matter how small that difference is, it matters. So think about what you do in your daily routine and make your own personal difference!
