Back from the urban outback
I haven’t posted on this blog for quite a while. There are a couple of reasons that underlie that fact, mainly two of them – I’ve got very little spare time recently and there’s very few things that are of some interest. Anyhow, recently I feel as if I’m in a some sort of urban outback. Sofia is an outback city anyway, but recently (maybe of the winter or something else) it’s beginning to look like outback city more and more.
The students’ holiday (December 8th) by the way was one of those signs that prove my suggestion for the outback status of Sofia. I spent the „holiday“ in Studentski grad, at a party, where I merely knew someone besides the couple friends that brought me there. It was a strange experience, even absurd at times. Why? Well, for instance there were a couple of guys in black, dead-metal shirts that were dancing chalga (wtf?) Definitely absurd. Otherwise, the party was good, as a whole. I still didn’t managed to get myself into any trouble, so it was a good „students holiday“. (Note: I keep putting the „holiday“ into quotation marks because for me it’s not really a holiday rather than a reason to get together with an unindetified number of students and consume great quantities of alcohol. No holiday mood at all, antropologically speaking).
