Vitosha biking

It was a hell of a ride yesterday. 56 km! If that looks like much to you, it is! But it was also lots of fun too.

For me it first started off with a ride to Lulin to see her and spent a couple of hours with her. I hate when we have so little time to spent together because she’s studying for finals and on top of that she’s departing to the USA next week. Anyhow. After that I went to the Studentski grad to get Dobrian and go biking together with him at the Vitosha mountain.

At first the plan was to go to the Simeonovo lift and with that to go to Aleko and then go downhill to Bistritza. Fine plan, but there was a minor new details that we were very surprised of. The guys that own the Simeonovo lift, starting the beginning of June, have introduced a new fee for bikes - twice the normal ticket. So in that manner the fee for a bike and a biker totals the outrageous 9 lv!!! (instead of what used to be 4 lv.) Outrageous. Just won’t elaborate to comment more on that because yesterday I was furious of this new fee.

Anyhow, this made us change the plans and go to the Dragalevtzi lift, which unlike the |#$%% Simeonovo lift cost us only 1lv! (!!!) You see the very little difference in price, don’t you? Anyhow. A nice ride downhill, though it was quite steep and the path was replete with stones all over. That’s why by the way I don’t like the Dragalevtzi trail, but obviously I have to begin to like it with that prices of the lifts.

After that we went to the watchtower that was built an year or two ago at the National Park Vitosha. The view towards Sofia was quite panoramic and nice. Also, it’s a very good spot to grab a bite of your snack after a nice ride. That’s a photo from the view there.

After that a long, lazy ride back home. I love days like this because at the end I’m so exhausted and tired that I hardly can do anything, but feel that it was a time of proper energy spending.
